Workflow: a platform for control, efficiency, and scale of the agricultural operation
How Corteva structured an integrated, traceable, and data-driven agricultural operation

Corteva Agriscience is a global company dedicated exclusively to agriculture. The result of the spin-off of DowDuPont, an American holding company in the chemical and agricultural sectors, the company has a strong presence in Brazil and offers an integrated portfolio of seeds, crop protection, and digital solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency in the field. With a focus on innovation, proximity to growers, and sustainability, Corteva has been consolidating its position as one of the main references in the sector.
In a market driven by data and operational efficiency, the ability to operate with predictability and scale has become a decisive factor in sustaining growth and ensuring competitiveness. It was in this context that, in 2019, TRINCA began acting as a strategic partner for Corteva, leading the design, development, and evolution of a critical platform for agricultural cycle management.

Challenge: a complex operation supported by a limited model
The operations of Corteva's seeds area presented a significant structural challenge. The company needed to manage the use of chemical products throughout the entire planting cycle across different regions of the country, considering variables such as climate, soil type, and application history.
In this scenario, the control of applications, orders, and inventories was carried out mostly through Excel spreadsheets and email exchanges. This model, besides being fragmented, increased operational risks, made it difficult to track past applications, and compromised the consistency of information for decision-making. The lack of a single, structured database also restricted real-time visibility and made the process poorly scalable. More than a tool problem, it was an operational model that no longer matched the complexity of the business.
TRINCA's involvement began with an in-depth discovery process, conducted together with Corteva's stakeholders. This work involved the complete mapping of the operational flow between administrative areas, field technicians, and dealerships, in addition to a detailed analysis of the business rules governing the operation.
Based on this diagnosis, it became clear that the challenge was not limited to digitizing the existing process. It was necessary to redesign the operational logic, structuring an integrated flow with clear governance and support for data-driven decisions.
The strategy adopted combined user-centered design, scalable technological architecture, and an approach focused on the continuous development of the product, ensuring that the solution could keep up with the complexity and growth of the operation over time.
A digital platform for complete management of the agricultural cycle
The result was the development of the Corteva Workflow, a digital platform that centralizes and organizes the entire journey of managing chemical products used in the planting and marketing cycle.
The solution was designed as an integrated ecosystem, connecting different user profiles into a single operational flow. For field technicians, a mobile application with offline functionality (Corteva App) was developed, ensuring operation even in regions with low connectivity. Through the application, technicians have access to farm inventories, view available products, automatically calculate the appropriate dosage for each application, and track usage limits per harvest, according to the defined rules.
For the administrative team, the platform offers a complete management environment, allowing the creation of units, inventory control by core, the definition of prices and commercial conditions, as well as the management of partner dealerships. The application rules are fully configurable, ensuring autonomy for adjustments according to business needs.
The journey was designed to work end-to-end within the system. Based on the need identified in the field, the technician generates the order based on automated calculations and available stock. This order is then directed to the dealership, which validates the conditions, performs billing, and executes delivery, closing the cycle with full traceability.

Business impact: traceability, governance and scale
The implementation of the Corteva Workflow structurally transformed the company's operation. Replacing the manual model with an integrated digital workflow eliminated a large part of the operational inefficiencies, significantly reducing rework and risks in the execution of calculations, orders and applications.
Traceability became a central element of the operation, allowing the detailed monitoring of all applications carried out throughout the harvests, strengthening governance and facilitating regulatory and auditing processes. At the same time, the consolidation of a structured and real-time updated database raised the level of maturity in decision-making, bringing more precision in stock management and in the definition of application strategies.
Another relevant impact was the effective integration between the different actors in the ecosystem (technicians, administrative staff and dealerships), who began to operate within a single workflow.

A partnership that evolves with the business
The partnership between TRINCA and Corteva began in 2019, with the launch of the first version of Workflow in the second half of that year. Since then, the platform has been continuously evolving, keeping up with business needs and incorporating improvements that increase efficiency and control over the operation.
Currently, TRINCA operates in the support and evolution of the system, ensuring its stability, performance, and adherence to the company's new challenges. This continuous effort reinforces our role not only as the developer of the solution, but as a strategic partner in Corteva's digital evolution.
We will build the ideal solution for your business.
